Roadtrip - Day 22: Las Vegas by night

Viva las vegas!

Before leaving, we did another short tour along the South Rim Grand Canyon, the sun unlike the first day

the first point of view (when you enter from the east), there is the Desert View Watchtower (you can see up Painted Desert weather permitting):

Despite my lukewarm first impression, now I am conquered by the Grand Canyon!

We met an Indian with a beautiful hat!

Come on, now you must go there ...

One last look ...

I keep my collection 'plate car (the U.S. license plate on the front is not mandatory, so some benefit to putting fancy plates):

And it is en route to Las Vegas. ..

Seligman on Route 66, found after using it wide open:

It would leave many views driving this superb Ford Edsel :

Or this one:

By cons, surprisingly, we did not specially want to stop eating there ( roadkill I do not really know how to translate into French, that the animals were killed by cars):

can also buy guns (new and used)!

Going shopping (should take, there's more "real" city until a while after!):

Or to repair his car (albeit it not to air in great shape):

That, after all this excitement we find our quiet road ...

Another beauce oucher sun, and a surprising optical effect, a kind of rainbow sky on a cloud (right above the mountain):

Closer:

The Hoover Dam, a huge dam on the border of Arizona and Nevada:

And a few tens of kilometers further we arrived in Las Vegas . We find the caps, it makes us funny ...

after 2 weeks spent almost exclusively in nature, the shock is brutal, but not unpleasant.

And honestly, we're not going to complain to swap the tent and mattress auto (de) swelling (it's lucky luke mattresses, they deflate faster than their shadow) for a room with real beds and a real bathroom at Stratosphere , one of the 150,000 hotel rooms in the city, as much as New York and Chicago combined (the benefit is that the hotels (even luxurious) are not too expensive because they are catching up on gains casinos)

loooooooongue After a shower, you are ready to visit the famous Strip (well I did not even know it was called like that!). The Stratosphere is located at the north end of the Strip:

Then there is the Sahara :

Then the largest store of memories the world (do you remember?)!

The Strip is actually a part of Las Vegas Boulevard:

After several other hotels / casinos, one arrives at Venetian :

Just after the Harrah's :

And opposite, the Mirage :

And Treasure Island :

I've never been to Venice, but honestly, the answer is quite impressive, they do not skimp!

The Campanile of St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge :

And there 's the same channels! But the gondola ride we did not, I keep it for the real Venice

It is still a strange feeling at first, all these hotels / casinos / replicas of cities in more atmosphere is very different from other American cities, you can smoke indoors, drink in the street ... Everything is "fake" of course, but it is really surprising and fun.

And of course, The Eiffel Tower ! This is exactly the same in 2 times smaller, it feels really weird ...

Opposite the Bellagio, made famous (at least for me) by the movie Ocean's Eleven (a movie starring Brad and George, it is always in my top 10 ;-)) :

The Eiffel Tower, a closer look:

There is also a replica of the Garnier Opera :

And the Arc de Triomphe , of course (level 2 / 3 of true):

The Harley Davidson Cafe :

And ... ta-ta-tadada, ta-ta-tadada, Neeew Yoooork , Neeeeeeeeeew Yooooooooooooooork (how well it's not imitate Frank Sinatra , but I do not dream!):

panoramix view of the Strip from a pedestrian bridge which spans:

It is the castle of Excalibur (view from the bridge, on the other side):

The Brooklyn Bridge (not even when they did not put a replica of the East River):

On your left (again from deck), the MGM Grand :

With a great lion:

The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building (it's practical, it works much less than in New York to see everything!):

It is within Luxor I think (you can practically without leaving any cross indeed, all Casinos are connected either by shuttle indoors or corridors):

And a last one before enjoying a well deserved rest!

were beginning to feel a little burnt out (the Strip is 6.5 km long, it is past 3am, the nights in tents are not especially highly remedial, and it's getting a bit cold whereas in the early evening it was hot so we did not take pull).

In summary, Las Vegas, it's indescribable, it must be done once to realize (but once is enough in my opinion). It pretty amazing not only for the bawdy architectural replicas, but also to see the number of people who spend hours playing in casinos, at any time of day and night there are people sitting in drinking and smoking . Given that virtually every casino shall, one can spend hours walking through a maze of corridors and casinos (we have not failed to find the exit point for that matter), without realizing what time it is . That said I can not understand how one could become addicted to gambling, in any case it does not attract me at all (they're not alone I had no budget game!). It was thought to enjoy a good night's sleep, but on returning at 4am, in fact we did not sleep much (it was released around 11am I think), but the mattresses were really comfortable with cons.

Come on, everybody in bed! (And as usual I'm too lazy to read this post with a length senseless Scuse MOA lai lai fote frase é ki spineless nothing Dirr).
